Hailing from the South Coast of England from a fairly large town called Hastings, the band started off life called 'Charlie and the Criminals'. They notched up a few gigs under this name before opting for the 'Clockwork Criminals'. Despite the 'Young and Bold' EP coming out in 82 it was recorded in 1980. They played along side most of the other local bands that were around on the same gig circuit like 'Smeggy and the Cheesybits', 'The Teenbeats', 'The Pirahnas' and just about all the other top South Coast bands. Sadly the band only released one single but also had another track featured on a compilation album called 'Bullshit Detector' that was released on the 'Crass' label. Growing up through the 70's and early 80's, young, out of work and fucking angry, like most of the youth in Britain we spent our time hanging around the corners, never far from trouble, going to gigs, drinking and being influenced by bands like the "Sex Pistols", "Sham 69", "Cockney Rejects" and "Motörhead" to name a few...As the years went on we all got jobs and raised our families, still with a middle finger stuck up at the system and its corrupt leaders.Jump forward 30+ years and the kids have left home and three, still angry old fuckers decided to dust off the instruments and in 2016 "LOAD" were born!"Older none the wiser, the spirit still lives on", three old Fuckers who should know better but don't! When everything closed down during the Covid pandemic, we started to record demos of old Perkele songs that we use to play live just for fun. We are creative persons and love to develop things, which we also have done with these songs during the years. We also recorded videos to the songs which we shared on Youtube. It became a success and we got requests to share the songs on music streaming platforms. Unfortunately the songs had too bad of a quality for that purpose. This was when we decided to record the songs again in a propper studio. We really want to share these awesome versions with you to celebrate when Perkele turns 30 years old. Hope you will enjoy it! (Perkele) With Back in Time you will get 5 Perkele classics in a reinterpreted version. The entire EP will be released on January 20th, 2023 on vinyl, CD and all streaming platforms.
