Many myths and scandals surround the legendary "Beck's Pistols" and the enduring mark they left on German punk history—ranging from their wild, raucous concerts to the forced name change (to "Pöbel & Gesocks") brought about by a German brewery. Frontman Willi Wucher became a cult icon thanks to his ferocious vocals and unbridled stage presence. Their raw punk style—devoid of any concern for sensibilities or etiquette—combined with their snotty, anti-social attitude effectively created a subgenre of its own: "Oi-Punk (Pervers)." The Beck's Pistols songs have arguably never sounded better than they do here, far surpassing the original studio recordings. “A new sound is coming from the stereo!” ...the whole madness started around 16 years ago with this statement in the title “We are the Martens Army”. The band has now reached its fourth full-length studio album, which has the quite contemporary title “Get up!”, not to mention numerous other projects (Haymaker, Pandemic, Gerbenok and MASC) by the self-crowned King Stöbi, which have been released over the years were also successfully published. After the group was exposed to a constant coming and going of band members, be it due to lack of time, conflicts of interest or loss due to the constant flow of life, all-rounder Stöbi decided to go back to his beginnings and the new songs, as before on the “Ein Oi! on my heart!” to record alone. The result is more than worth seeing or hearing, because the man now simply knows what he's doing and seems to be shaking hymns out of his sleeve. Every song is musically carefully coordinated down to the last detail and comes with a power that washes without losing the certain rough charm of skinhead rock'n'roll. The texts are written with a self-confidence, attitude and energy that can hardly be found in any other Oi! Band of today's generation could write down or would because of fear of their own courage. Lyrics from the gut and to the point, which one also accepts from the singer without doubting the seriousness, here what is not only propagated but also lived by what one sings: Be it criticism of your own scene, the boycott of various anti-scene booking agencies or the simple odes about the way of life, about days gone by or everyday problems that make life unnecessarily difficult - the reckoning always follows the twelve. There's no beating around the bush here, just enough acoustic ass-kicking to be distributed! “Stand up!” has long been a German-language Oi! Disc that will enrich the scene. Even if the “One-Man Army” will probably never get rid of its questionable reputation, it remains the most honest and sincere asset that consolidates and sustains the subculture through and through. In honor of Record Store Day 2013, Pirates Press Records, Longshot Music, Contra Records, Randale Records, Oi! The Boat Records, and Rebellion Records teamed up to launch a year-long, weekly 7" record subscription! The intention of the UNDER ONE FLAG SINGLES SERIES was to unite Streetpunk and Oi! vinyl collectors worldwide, to celebrate the loyalty of this sub-genre, and to prove how strong we are when we come together as a one team, under one flag! Releasing one 7" record each week and limited to editions of only 350 records per title, this series kicked off on Record Store Day 2013. All records will be housed in a simple 'old school' full color printed paper innersleeve with printed center labels, inserted into a custom-printed shipping envelope. All six record companies involved contributed material for between 6-10 weeks. This series aimed to highlight great bands that fans of Punk and Oi! will already know, while also introducing the base to new and upcoming bands that are destined to be future favorites of the scene.
