The Martens Army as we knew, loved and hated it will probably never be the same after the passing of their drummer Fabi. Not only does this leave a musical gap that is very difficult to fill, it also had major repercussions in terms of plans that had already been made, not to mention the emotional setback that hit everyone in the band personally.But somehow - it has to go on, because life continues to write stories that have to be told and processed.For this reason, the English-language music project between Fabi and Stöbi called "Skinhead Pride" came to the fore, if only for reasons of inheritance.For more than 8 years now, the songs and the lyrics have been worked on, which have finally come to an end and today culminate in the first part of the record series "Martens Army Skinhead Crew - A Skinhead's Pride".Stöbi has gathered his best men around him to achieve a high-quality result in terms of play and singing.With talented musicians like Tim Steinfort (vocals), Karsten Fiebig (guitar) and Rick Groenewegen (bass), the cream of the crops of the German and international Oi! scene and present a sound that is unparalleled in today's scene.Every single song is well composed, set to great music and backed with goosebump choirs, so that you can't complain about any failures in any way.The songs range from fast, melodic hymns like "Skinhead Rock'n'Roll" to pure rock arrangements a la AC/DC ("My throat is calling for beer"), which is rather atypical for the scene but is nevertheless grandiose, to rather quiet numbers like "Phoenix rising", which ones too bring tears to the eyes of the toughest guy.Nevertheless, they remain lyrically sovereign and unrestrictedly true to their skinhead roots.In the future, this rather special record series by the Martens Army will include a total of 2 albums, which will only be released in English. Hier ist für jeden was dabei, vom Gassenhauser wie "Geliebt, gehasst", über schöne Punkballaden wie "Einfacher Mann", bishin zu Coversongs wie "Bombe" (Prinzen-Cover). Ein wirklich gut gelungenes, deutschsprachiges Streetpunk-Werk!   

“A new sound is coming from the stereo!” ...the whole madness started around 16 years ago with this statement in the title “We are the Martens Army”. The band has now reached its fourth full-length studio album, which has the quite contemporary title “Get up!”, not to mention numerous other projects (Haymaker, Pandemic, Gerbenok and MASC) by the self-crowned King Stöbi, which have been released over the years were also successfully published. After the group was exposed to a constant coming and going of band members, be it due to lack of time, conflicts of interest or loss due to the constant flow of life, all-rounder Stöbi decided to go back to his beginnings and the new songs, as before on the “Ein Oi! on my heart!” to record alone. The result is more than worth seeing or hearing, because the man now simply knows what he's doing and seems to be shaking hymns out of his sleeve. Every song is musically carefully coordinated down to the last detail and comes with a power that washes without losing the certain rough charm of skinhead rock'n'roll. The texts are written with a self-confidence, attitude and energy that can hardly be found in any other Oi! Band of today's generation could write down or would because of fear of their own courage. Lyrics from the gut and to the point, which one also accepts from the singer without doubting the seriousness, here what is not only propagated but also lived by what one sings: Be it criticism of your own scene, the boycott of various anti-scene booking agencies or the simple odes about the way of life, about days gone by or everyday problems that make life unnecessarily difficult - the reckoning always follows the twelve. There's no beating around the bush here, just enough acoustic ass-kicking to be distributed! “Stand up!” has long been a German-language Oi! Disc that will enrich the scene. Even if the “One-Man Army” will probably never get rid of its questionable reputation, it remains the most honest and sincere asset that consolidates and sustains the subculture through and through. The CD comes in a jewel case with a 12-page booklet, the LP comes in an inside-out cover, embossed and partially glossy varnish on white vinyl, limited to 500 units and a small amount of red vinyl limited to 200 copies (exlusive available at Oi! the Shop and at the bands merch-stall!.
